The NASA engineers are happy because they've just got data from the Spirit Mars rover's landing site. Obviously, this leads one to think of Star Trek, the star of which was one Wesley Crusher, played by Wil Wheaton. Wil's become a geek culture icon. Partly because of this role, but mostly because of his blog, his candor, and his geekiness. Now, when Wil was out on some charity walk, he came across the Haliburton offices and offered his opinion of the company for the camera. This became a Fark photoshop contest, which became a cliche. I'm actually a big fan of the Mars rovers, this just seemed like a good place to put Wil.
