Browser Jeopardy is a partially automated system for managing a private Jeopardy game formerly managed by email. It is only partially automated because the author has not yet found a way to have it add questions and evaluate responses on its own. :)

Browser Jeopardy was scripted in PHP 4 and uses a PostgreSQL database server. It is hosted on a Pentium 133 with 32MB of RAM running Debian GNU/Linux behind the author's home 384Kbps SDSL connection. While the computer isn't exactly a powerhouse, it manages to serve dynamic web pages and run a modern database server while at the same time managing connectivity for the author's workstations and hosting several other services. If you aren't already an open-source geek, you should become one. Browser Jeopardy was coded entirely with the VIM (VI iMproved) editor and was tested most thoroughly with the Mozilla open-source web browser and will always look best when viewed with it. (Not very) Surprisingly, standards-bending browsers such as Microsoft's Internet Explorer render it the most poorly.

Browser Jeopardy is based upon the Jeopardy television game show. However, it is not approved, endorsed, or sponsored by anyone associated with the television program or its producers. Browser Jeopardy has been created to host a private game for friends of the author and is not available to the general public. It is not now being, nor will it ever be, sold for profit. If, after reading this, you still have some sort of problem with the author's use of the Jeopardy name or associated trademarks or copyrighted material (if any -- the author is unaware of any trademark or copyright infringment), contact the author at alex@blob.eraserhead.net and he will address your concerns.
